New CD

Glen's New debut Album available Now on MP3 at CDBaby.

Glen Heald's first solo album is primarily heavy guitar based blues rock. "The idea was to make an album that appealed to people that loved soulful electric guitar and to avoid any modern style or fad. Also to avoid synthesisers and to make the guitar solos longer like they are in jazz." The songs were recorded over a five year period in two studios at opposite ends of the country. "Tell me the truth" is performed on the Chapman Stick a tapped guitar/ bass with 12 strings and stereo output.
There is also some great electric slide guitar on "Welfare Days" many of the other songs are in the guitar trio format, solos are improvised in one take rather than overdubbed, with vocals reminiscent of Tom Waits and Howling Wolf.
